The Chairman of the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce (AREPT), Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin, along with Taskforce member, Atty. Suzanne Johnson paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon, on Wednesday at his Capitol Building office in Monrovia.

The high-level engagement was part of AREPTโ€™s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration in the national fight against corruption and the recovery of public assets.

During the meeting, Chairman Martin emphasized the importance of a united front in addressing economic crimes and holding accountable those responsible for the misuse of public resources. He also briefed the Speaker on the Taskforceโ€™s progress, challenges, and future plans.

Speaker Koon welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Legislatureโ€™s commitment to supporting lawful and transparent anti-corruption efforts and โ€œpromoting the Presidentโ€™s Agendaโ€. He stressed the need for strong inter-agency cooperation to ensure that the fight against corruption is effective, sustained, and shielded from political interference.

The visit underscores AREPTโ€™s strategy of building constructive partnerships with all branches of government and ensuring that accountability and good governance remain national priorities.
